Permitted and Prohibited Uses

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets forth the rules and guidelines for using the Guardian Volt platform. By using our Service, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service.

2. Permitted Uses

Guardian Volt is designed exclusively for:

  • Court-Appointed Guardians and Conservators: Managing ward finances and generating court-required reports
  • Deputies: Managing finances for protected persons under Court of Protection orders
  • Attorneys under LPA: Managing finances under a registered Lasting Power of Attorney
  • Professional Fiduciaries: Licensed professionals managing multiple wards/protected persons
  • Legal and Accounting Professionals: Assisting clients with guardianship accounting

3. Prohibited Uses

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

3.1 Unauthorised Access

  • Connecting bank accounts without legal authority (e.g., without valid court order, deputyship, or LPA)
  • Accessing accounts belonging to persons you are not legally authorised to represent
  • Sharing your account credentials with unauthorised individuals
  • Circumventing any access controls or security measures

3.2 Fraudulent Activity

  • Submitting false or misleading information
  • Falsifying court documents or reports
  • Manipulating transaction categories to misrepresent financial activity
  • Creating reports that intentionally omit material information
  • Using the Service to facilitate financial exploitation of vulnerable adults

3.3 Illegal Activities

  • Using the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Money laundering or concealment of illegally obtained funds
  • Tax evasion or fraudulent financial reporting
  • Breach of fiduciary duty to a ward or protected person

3.4 Abuse of Service

  • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
  • Uploading malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Automated scraping or data extraction beyond normal use
  • Denial of service attacks or attempts to overload systems
  • Reselling or redistributing the Service without authorisation

3.5 Misuse of AI Features

  • Deliberately providing false data to train or manipulate AI responses
  • Using AI-generated content without review for official filings
  • Attempting to extract training data or proprietary information from AI systems

4. Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

Guardian Volt is committed to protecting vulnerable adults. We take safeguarding seriously and expect all users to:

  • Act in the best interests of the ward/protected person at all times
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records
  • Use ward funds only for the ward's benefit
  • Report suspected abuse or exploitation to appropriate authorities
  • Comply with all court orders and legal requirements

If you suspect financial exploitation or abuse:

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

We reserve the right to monitor use of the Service for compliance with this AUP. We may:

  • Review account activity for unusual patterns
  • Investigate reported violations
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP
  • Report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Cooperate with court orders and legal investigations

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it immediately:

We will investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action.

7. Consequences of Violation

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning or formal notice
  • Temporary suspension of access
  • Permanent termination of account
  • Preservation and disclosure of data to law enforcement
  • Civil or criminal legal action

Guardian Volt Ltd reserves the right to take any action it deems necessary to protect the Service, our users, and vulnerable adults.
