    Refund Policy

    1. Promotional Access

    From time to time, Guardian Volt may issue promotional access codes to selected individuals. If you have received a promotional code, the following terms apply:

    Promotional Access Terms:

    • 7-day access window: Promotional access expires 7 days from activation
    • 3 report limit: You may generate up to 3 reports during your promotional period
    • One-time only: Each email address and device may only use promotional access once
    • No extensions: Promotional periods cannot be extended, paused, or renewed
    • Non-transferable: Promotional codes are issued to specific individuals and may not be shared

    Promotional codes are issued at the sole discretion of Guardian Volt. Attempts to circumvent usage restrictions may result in account suspension.

    2. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

    We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all new paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with Guardian Volt within the first 30 days of your paid subscription, you may request a refund subject to the conditions below.

    Eligibility:

    • Available for first-time subscribers only
    • Request must be made within 30 days of initial payment
    • Applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions
    • Not available for subsequent billing cycles

    Refund Calculation:

    Refund amounts are adjusted based on usage during the refund period:

    • No reports generated or downloaded: Full refund of subscription amount
    • Reports generated or downloaded: Refund minus the cost of reports used at standard credit rates (£15 per annual report, £8 per quarterly report)
    • Extensive usage: If credit usage exceeds 50% of your monthly allocation, refunds are issued at our discretion

    This policy ensures fair treatment for all users whilst preventing misuse of the money-back guarantee.

    How to Request:

    To request a refund under the 30-day guarantee, please email support@guardianvolt.com with your account email address and reason for the refund. We aim to process all refund requests within 5-7 business days.

    3. Subscription Cancellation

    You may cancel your subscription at any time. Here's what happens when you cancel:

    Monthly Subscriptions:

    • Access continues until the end of your current billing period
    • No refund for partial months
    • You will not be charged for future months

    Annual Subscriptions:

    • Access continues until the end of your annual term
    • Pro-rata refunds available after 30 days (see Section 4)
    • You will not be charged for the next annual term

    How to Cancel:

    1. Go to Settings → Billing in your Guardian Volt account
    2. Click "Manage Subscription"
    3. Select "Cancel Subscription"
    4. Confirm your cancellation

    4. Pro-Rata Refunds for Annual Plans

    If you cancel an annual subscription after the 30-day money-back guarantee period, you may be eligible for a pro-rata refund based on the unused portion of your subscription.

    Calculation:

    Pro-rata refunds are calculated as follows:

    • Unused months × (Annual price ÷ 12) = Refund amount
    • A minimum of 2 full months must remain on your subscription
    • An administrative fee of £25 may be deducted

    Example:

    If you paid £290 for an annual Starter plan and cancel after 6 months, you would receive approximately £120 (£290 ÷ 12 × 6 months remaining - £25 admin fee).

    5. Non-Refundable Items

    The following are not eligible for refunds:

    • Subscription renewals after the initial 30-day period (monthly plans)
    • Unused trial periods
    • Accounts terminated for Terms of Service violations
    • Promotional or discounted subscriptions (unless stated otherwise)
    • Partial months on monthly subscriptions

    6. Refund Processing

    All approved refunds will be processed as follows:

    • Processing Time: 5-7 business days for approval
    • Credit to Account: 5-10 business days after approval
    • Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method
    • Currency: Refunds are issued in the original payment currency

    Please note that your bank or payment provider may have their own processing times which can extend the time before the refund appears in your account.

    7. Disputes and Chargebacks

    If you have an issue with a charge, please contact us first at support@guardianvolt.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to resolving any billing issues quickly and fairly.

    Fraudulent chargebacks may result in account suspension and collection proceedings.

    8. Your Consumer Rights (UK)

    This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Under these regulations, you have a 14-day cancellation period from the date of purchase for digital services.

    By starting to use our Service during this 14-day period, you acknowledge that you may lose your right to cancel once the digital content has been accessed or downloaded.
